You book your appointment online, choosing a date and time that suits you. When you arrive, your pharmacist will ask a few questions about your health, any allergies and your vaccination history to check the vaccine is suitable for you.
The vaccine is given as a quick injection into the upper arm. Most people are in and out within a short appointment. You will usually be asked to wait in the pharmacy for a few minutes afterwards so we can keep an eye on you before you leave.
Before you come, wear clothing that makes it easy to access your upper arm and bring a list of any medicines you take. Let us know if you have had a reaction to a vaccine before, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, so this can be discussed with you.
Afterwards, your pharmacist will give you simple advice on caring for your arm and what to do if you feel unwell. If you have any questions once you are home, you are welcome to contact the pharmacy for advice.
