Why vaccination matters this winter
Fulham Palace Pharmacy provides Covid and flu vaccinations to eligible adults and children. Vaccines lower the risk of serious illness, hospital admission and long recovery. This is especially important for older people, pregnant people and those with long term conditions.
Most eligible adults can book from 1 October. Some groups, including anyone who is pregnant, may be offered flu vaccination from 1 September. Covid appointments also begin from 1 October through local services like community pharmacies.
Flu vaccination is offered to children aged two to sixteen, with many receiving a nasal spray at school. Children in clinical risk groups and pregnant people are also eligible. Protecting children helps cut spread to older relatives.
Covid vaccination this autumn is offered to adults aged seventy five and over, care home residents and people who are immunosuppressed from six months of age. Your clinician will advise on timing if you have recently been unwell.
Who is likely to be eligible
Eligibility includes older adults, pregnant people, carers, children, and people with certain health conditions. Household contacts of people with weakened immune systems are also included for flu. Speak to our team if unsure about your eligibility.
- Ages sixty five and over for flu
- Ages seventy five and over for Covid
- Long term health conditions
- Pregnancy at any stage
- Children aged two to sixteen
- Carers and household contacts
What to expect on the day
Your clinician will check eligibility, answer questions and obtain consent. Most people can have both vaccines on the same day, in different arms. Mild, short lived side effects like a sore arm, headache or tiredness are common

Booked for my parents and myself. Smooth process and very professional staff. Grateful to have this service locally.
Friendly pharmacist who explained everything simply. The jab was quick and I barely felt it. I recommend Fulham Palace Pharmacy.

Yes, many people can have both at the same visit. They are given in different arms after a quick check to confirm this is suitable for you.
A sore, heavy arm, headache, tiredness, and mild flu like symptoms are common and usually settle in a day or two. Seek advice if symptoms worry you.
You do not need to wait once you feel well and do not have a fever. If you are unwell, wait until fully recovered.
